"One of the key aims of this year's beneFit Prize is to ensure that companies' health promotion programs can be tax-exempt in Hungary in the future. Every forint spent on employee health promotion pays back four times more to the company on a micro level and to Hungary on a macro level," said Zsuzsa Mihalik, founder of the beneFit Prize and owner of AYCM, in her opening speech.
According to a study of a sample of 5,300 people, healthy workers miss 2.9 fewer days of work due to illness. According to KSH data, the average number of days of sick leave is 7 days, which translates into a daily sick pay expenditure of HUF 6,277.
This could save up to HUF 91 billion per year for a total of 5 million workers, which is how much less the state would have to pay out in sick pay if employers' fringe benefits for health promotion and prevention were tax-free or at least equal to the low tax burden of the Szép card.
This is one of the reasons why the founder of the prize considered it important that László György, Government Commissioner for Economic Strategy, accepted the invitation to be the main patron of the gala.
In 2019, All You Can Move (AYCM), in partnership with the Humánpolitika.com Public Benefit Association, established the beneFit Prize, a unique, comprehensive competition giving companies the opportunity to showcase all the ways and programs they use to promote employee well-being as caring companies.
An important aim of the competition is to educate, encourage, and motivate, or even to create future joint collaborations. The awards gala is a personal platform for company representatives to celebrate together with a common purpose. The goal is the well-being of the employees, who are the ones who contribute to the success of the company. The 2023 edition of the gala took place on November 9 at the Millennium Café and Restaurant.
The event was hosted by comedian András Péter Kovács, who welcomed the guests and kicked off the event of the year. The professional jury picked the best entries from almost 100 applications.
The jury was made up of representatives from AYCM, Blue Colibri, DM Hungary, Európa Design, FrieslandCampina Service Centre EMEA, LHH Hungary, Lyreco - Nespresso Professional, Salarify, SkillON, and Wolt.
